    A. SETTING THE FOUNDATION

  2. Establishes the coaching agreement:

    Discusses coaching relationship - fees, logistics, scheduling, client and coach responsibilities, establishes match, relishes truth, respects client's humanity, communicates cleanly.

    B. CO-CREATING THE RELATIONSHIP

  3. Establishes trust and intimacy with client:

    Genuine concern, integrity, clear agreements, respect, supports, champions, asks permission in sensitive areas.

  4. Coaching presence:

    Open, flexible, intuitive, takes risks, light, uses humor, comfortable with discomfort, relishes truth, shifts perspectives, experiments, respects humanity, recognizes perfection.

    C. COMMUNICATING EFFECTIVELY

  5. Active listening:

    Client's agenda, hears concerns, tone, body language, mirrors, paraphrases, bottom lines, gets to real issue, no attachment, accepts frameworks, curious.

  6. Powerful questioning:

    Clarifiers, provocative questions, open-ended questions, questions to move forward, curious, hones in on what's most important.

  7. Direct communication:

    Clean communication, provocative questions, clean, direct, offers perspectives, restates objectives, uses metaphors and analogy, expands best efforts.

    D. FACILITATING LEARNING AND RESULTS

  8. Creates awareness:

    Integrate, evaluate, interpret, doesn't get hooked on client's story, inquire for clarity, identifies frameworks, introduces new frameworks, elicits greatness, expands efforts, champions.

  9. Designs actions:

    Brainstorming, learning, supportive environment, enters new territories, champions, provocative questions, elicits greatness, expands best efforts.

  10. Planning and goal setting:

    Designs supportive environments, enters new territories, learning, expands best efforts.

  11. Manages progress and accountability:
